Identify each piece once

Use photos and short, distinct names. Include dimensions when fit is uncertain, and ask recipients to confirm they want the actual piece rather than a general type of furniture. Keep a dated decisions list separate from the final moving inventory.

A recipient should check the intended room and access route before agreeing to delivery. An item fitting in one house does not establish that it will fit through another entrance or around a stair turn.

Assign the destination and the contact

Write the recipient, address, contact number and access window beside each confirmed item. Make clear who can open the property and where the furniture belongs. List extra stops in the estimate request rather than assuming they are included in the main move.

If a piece is waiting for a decision, mark it for review. Planned storage may be an option to discuss, with its own inventory, access and later delivery arrangements; it should not hide an unresolved ownership or space decision.

Close the list before packing day

Update the list when furniture is collected early, sold or reassigned. Remove obsolete labels and share the latest version with the team. Keep approved donation and removal items on separate lists with their own destinations.

Choose the daily essentials that stay with the household, and keep keys and documents in your care. A final walk-through after loading checks that the written plan matches what actually left the property.
